The Field Manager Campaign Job:
Field Managers are the backbone of the canvass operation year-round. They are versatile and are utilized for their managerial skills on each campaign Working Families runs â from issue fundraising to electoral. FMs are responsible for training, retaining, and developing new leaders, tracking time and pay data for Trainees and Field Representatives in their crews, and for setting expectations for professional conduct. FMs collectively influence decisions on canvass culture and policies.
Field Manager Campaign Job Responsibilities:
Manage crews of Trainees and Field Representatives. This entails training individually and in groups, preparing and delegating turf, and providing feedback and constructive criticism on job performance.
Evaluate and recommend hiring, promotion, demotion and termination decisions for the positions of Observer, Trainee, and Field Representative. Additionally, Field Managers recommend Field Representatives for promotion to the Field Manager position.
Track and report qualitative and quantitative information on crew performance and ensure all financial and donor information is tracked meticulously.
Help determine overall direction of canvass culture through participation in weekly Field Manager meetings and all scheduled âBUSâ meetings.
Have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule based on ability to meet weekly goals.
May be given the opportunity to temporarily serve as a Project Director. (Most Field Managers in good standing will receive this opportunity.)
Possession of a valid driverâs license and ability to drive is a large factor in the consideration of a Field Representative's promotion to FM.
