The Senior Tax Accountant provides operational and analytical support to the tax management function. Reporting to the Sr. Tax Manager, the position is responsible for providing support to the tax compliance and financial reporting process as well as providing research and analysis as necessary related to the company’s tax structure.

Essential Functions

Assist in the preparation of income tax provisions and related disclosures for review by outside auditors
Ensure the company is in compliance with all tax accounting controls and documentation requirements
Assist in gathering data and analyzing information for preparation and completion of annual federal and state income and franchise tax returns including quarterly federal and state estimated payments as well as extensions
Analyze and process information necessary to prepare tax calculations, including research and development credits, fixed asset depreciation and dispositions, account analysis, and state tax apportionment factors
Assist with tax audits initiated by various federal and state jurisdictions relating to all types of taxes
Respond to and resolve assigned information and documentation requests received from federal, state and local governmental agencies related to tax matters
Assist with income and franchise tax planning for new and current filing jurisdictions
Responsible for annual property tax and other miscellaneous tax filings processes
Responsible for sales and use tax filing process
Perform tax research related to new legislation and other issues impacting the company’s tax matters
Remain current in relevant statutory, administrative, and judicial authority and guidance to identify and analyze the impact of such changes on the Company
Maintain tax compliance and reporting calendars, ensuring timely completion of all scheduled items
Assist in various other tax-related projects as needed
Education, Experience, and Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to work individually or as part of a team
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong organizational skills
Highly motivated and Detail-oriented
Excellent analytical skills
Strong computer skills
Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, CPA preferred
3-6 years of public or industry, tax, audit or accounting experience
Working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting principles
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Experience with SAGE FAS Fixed Assets Software desirable
Familiarity with Thomson Reuter’s ONESource Tax Provision Software desirable
